It adds the moisture needed before pelleting. The advantages of steam cooking mash before pelleting includes: it makes pellets less dust; improve palatability and digestibility; prevents microbiological activities; increases nutrients availability; better stability of fish pellet and reducing frequency of water replacement as it will generally improve the water quality.
